Writing Genre #1: Research Topic Reflection
This reflection will be based on your topic exploration and initial research. You’ll reflect on what may have inspired the desire for further inquiry,
I was wondering what subject I should choose. I had a few ideas like COVID-19, Education, social media, and environment. First I thought about researching climate change impacts on agriculture, but I was still confused. I was listening to the Quran and working on this research subject at the same time. Then those Quran’s words hit me with an idea that why not research about the actual and the only thing that I am totally desperate to learn more and more as I go forward. I am curious and honestly want to learn more about my religion Islam. I searched for what type of questions I should use for my research paper. I searched about specific topics about the subject of Islam. There were so many topics to choose from, like women’s rights in Islam, Muslim’s belief in angels, etc. Then I thought I want to choose a topic that is mentioned a lot of times in the Quran. Based on my research I found out 8 angles were mentioned in the Quran and faith in God through these pillars, therefore I came up with these questions. How do the five pillars of Islam strengthen Muslims’ faith? What do Muslims believe about angles and How Quran analyzes the 8 angles?
Why might it be important, and how do you plan to explore the question in your research?
Recently I am learning to read the Quran and my Intention is to memorize the whole Quran. Therefore, it is important for Muslims to learn what is mentioned in the Quran. The more Muslims seek the path of Islam the more they get close to god and being a Muslim I feel happy to please Allah. If I choose to answer How the five pillars of Islam strengthen the Muslim’s faith? Then I plan to talk about each pillar for each paragraph of my paper since it’s an 8-10 page essay and I want to use evidence from the Quran to talk about these pillars. I plan to use the Quran as my scholarly source. Otherwise, If I choose to research What Muslims believe about angles and How Quran analyzes the 8 angles? I plan to talk about each angle for each paragraph with evidence from the Quran from some Islamic books.
